Relaxed office wear (pants, shirts, blouses, sweaters, suit jackets, skirts). More formal attire may be required for some particular occasions. Short-sleeve, open collar 'Batik' shirts are common office wear, whereas long-sleeve, open collar Batik with dark trousers and dark shoes is acceptable even at very formal functions!
Indonesia being predominantly a Moslem country, you should dress conservatively. Indonesian’s are generally tolerant, however, if you dress provocatively “western” style, you may draw unwanted attention to yourself. You should keep in mind that you will be living in a tropical climate and that cotton and linens allow your skin to breathe more easily than synthetic fibers do. Other considerations when preparing your wardrobe are the rain during the wet season, the sun during the dry season, and the traffic pollution in Jakarta.
